More than 10,000 autistic children and youth live in the Waterloo region, yet only one in five will receive their high school diploma due to a lack of resources. We know that 75% of neurodiverse individuals are unemployed and are twice as likely to form substance dependency as their peers.
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to access a high-quality education, giving them opportunities for sustained success in the future.
Introducing Oak Bridge
We understand the challenging future that children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder face as they struggle in the traditional education system. At OBA, our staff are all trained in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. This training enables our staff to deliver high-quality education while also empowering students to become more flexible and independent.
