Meet Our Board of Directors
Dr. Heather Henderson
Board Chair
Dr. Henderson, a Developmental Psychologist and Professor at the University of Waterloo, serves as a community representative on the Oak Bridge Academy Board of Directors. She specializes in social and emotional development in childhood and adolescence, with a focus on social withdrawal and peer relationships. After earning her Ph.D. at the University of Maryland and teaching at the University of Miami, she returned to Waterloo in 2014 with her husband and two children.
Laura Martin
Vice Chair - Parent Representative
Laura is a parent rep and one of the founding board members of Oak Bridge Academy. Her son was diagnosed with autism at 4, and has been receiving intensive behaviour therapy ever since. The family has found this therapy to be absolutely transformative. The innovative structure at OBA, which includes both behaviour therapists and teachers within the classroom, has been essential for his social, emotional and academic development. Laura grew up in Petrolia, Ontario and attended the University of Waterloo. She worked for 10 years in the field of occupational health as an ergonomist and she is now at home full time.
Tara Botsford
Secretary - Parent Representative
Tara feels very privileged to be the Secretary on the Oak Bridge Academy Board of Directors and to work with a group of wonderful individuals. She worked in IT at Blackberry for almost 12 years until 2012 and now works at Sun Life part time. She has 2 fantastic boys: Dylan and Jack. Jack has been attending Oak Bridge Academy since September 2019. Tara is very appreciative to have the opportunity to send Jack to this wonderful school and she has no doubt the sky's the limit for Jack because of Oak Bridge.
Mark Ross
Director
Mark Ross is President and CEO of SEH Computer Systems Inc, a company that specializes in creating and supporting their Titan software for Mutual Insurance clients in Canada. In addition to his Computer Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo he also has a Masters of Education from D’Youville College in Buffalo and has taught software and electrical engineering courses at Conestoga College. In his downtime you will find Mark playing hockey or riding a bike. He feels privileged to be part of the board at Oak Bridge Academy.
Sara Wick
Parent Representative
Since her son joined Oak Bridge in September 2023, he has thrived in the supportive and inclusive environment the school provides. Prior to finding Oak Bridge, Sara and her family navigated a piecemeal approach to meet his needs, an experience that makes them especially appreciative of the supportive environment offered at OBA. Professionally, Sara is a Chartered Professional Accountant and an Assistant Professor at Wilfrid Laurier University. Outside of work, she enjoys running, reading, and all things Super Mario!
Rohan Sampath
Director
Rohan Sampath brings a broad range of financial experience in accounting, auditing, compliance, risk management and regulation, with a passion for supporting community organizations. Rohan has over 10 years of experience in financial regulation in Jamaica, the Turks & Caicos Islands and Bermuda. In addition to his Banking & Finance degree from the University of the West Indies, he holds an MBA from the University of Fredericton in New Brunswick, Canada. Rohan relocated to the Cambridge area after his son was diagnosed with autism at 2, and as a parent to a child with autism, he feels privileged to be part of the board at Oak Bridge Academy. In his downtime, you find Rohan playing soccer or walking the neighbourhood with his kids.
Melanie Moser
Board Member
Melanie Moser is an Independent Professional specializing in practice management strategies and event planning. After nearly 30 years with IG Wealth Management, she transitioned to independent work to offer a more tailored approach to the individuals and teams she supports—while also embracing a healthier work-life balance. Melanie brings a wealth of expertise in compliance, operational best practices, and creative fundraising strategies, making her a dynamic and insightful contributor to the Board.
Todd Moser
Board Member
Todd Moser is the Regional Vice-President at IG Wealth Management, leading the KW-Cambridge region. With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Todd has built a career helping individuals, families, business owners, and professionals gain financial confidence through comprehensive planning. Todd has also served on several other boards, consistently demonstrating his dedication to the community where he lives and works with his family. His leadership, deep industry knowledge, and commitment to personalized service make him a valuable asset to the Board.
