ACT in a nutshell:
There is a lot more to Acceptance and Commitment Training than just mindfulness. The core principle of Acceptance and Commitment Training is behavioural flexibility. Flexibility in our thinking, feelings and actions. It is about identifying one's core values and regularly taking actions that are guided by these values. Mindfulness helps us “wake up”, connect with ourselves, and appreciate the fullness of each moment of life.
A = Accept your thoughts and feelings, and be present
C = Choose a valued direction
T = Take Action
When we are flexible we can:
By being aware of our student's social and emotional needs; and teaching students to be mindful and aware in the present moment, we are helping our students to improve relationships. This key skill, encompassing social skills development and emotional regulation, is at the heart of all school activities. We believe that these skills will support our students for sustained future success in both school and more importantly throughout life.

ABA in a nutshell:
Applied Behaviour Analysis focuses on the principles that explain how learning takes place. Positive reinforcement is one such principle. When a behaviour is followed by some sort of reward, the behaviour is more likely to be repeated. Through decades of research, the field of behaviour analysis has developed many techniques for increasing useful behaviours and reducing those that may cause harm or interfere with learning.
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is the use of these techniques and principles to bring about meaningful and positive change in behaviour.
