Ready 2 Learn is a program designed to target the skills required to be successful in a classroom or group setting. Ready 2 Learn offers a blended therapeutic and academic environment, using a variety of evidence based practices to support each child in reaching their full potential. Specific scaffolded programs are used to teach core academic skills. Our literacy program is based on the Orton Gillingham approach, utilizing structured literacy, which is a multi-sensory plan beneficial for students with various learning exceptionalities.
Heggerty is a supplementary program that will also help to build a stronger literacy foundation. It includes daily, explicit, and systematic phonological and phonemic awareness instruction. A multi-sensory approach is also employed through the use of the Touch Math curriculum providing real world connections to mathematical concepts. Additionally, Applied Behaviour Analysis principles, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness instruction are used to develop emotional regulation skills, with a focus on attention and present moment awareness. In this program, students will participate in both group instruction and one to one learning to target individual goals.
